This is a great 1930s era baking and storage dish by Hall China for Westinghouse. In the 1930s, as Americans transitioned from iceboxes to electric refrigerators, major manufacturers partnered with Hall China to produce sets of refrigerator dishes that would be included as premiums with purchase.
We love this particular dish because it can be used for baking, in the microwave, and of course for storing food in your refrigerator. We boiled water in it for several minutes and found it to work great; we also have another size Hall/Westinghouse baking dish that we use often in our oven-works perfectly. The color is called Delphinium Blue, and it has a white interior. The domed lid has a built-in arched handle typical of the art deco period.
Measures 9" x 5 1/2"; 3 3/4" high to the rim without the lid, 6" tall to the center top of the lid. Holds 7 cups (1 3/4 quarts).
Excellent condition and sure beats a plastic container!
Weighs 4 lbs before packing, and shipping will be via FedEx Ground/Home Delivery, insurance included.
