Outstanding large American Art Pottery vase by the early 1900s Pfaltzgraff Pottery. The glaze is called "Spanish Moss" and has a base color of pumpkin orange with a crystalline overglaze in light brown. We tried to capture the understated sparkle of the glaze in our photos but they're elusive. The shape is classical with double handles with flower center. The vase measures 8 1/4" tall, 7 1/16" wide, and 3 7/8" front to back. It's marked on the base 116.
Overall condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. There is, however, an anomaly from manufacture (we must remember that quality control didn't exist when this vase was made), with a mold flaw on the rim that was glazed over. Please see last photo. In person, it's hardly noticeable.
The vase weighs almost 2 1/2 lbs before packing, and shipping will be via FedEx Ground/Home Delivery, insurance included.
