An antique water or milk pitcher, late 1800s, probably from the Luxembourg region. It has an elongated "C" handle and is decorated with a cobalt blue tassel pattern with circles and diamonds that have a somewhat flow blue appearance. The body has a stippled finish and gilt trim, though the gilt trim is worn on the body and almost gone at the rim. The piece is well modeled and of medium weight--it is glazed pottery, not salt glaze stoneware. The bottom is glazed and marked only with an indecipherable blue letter or numbers and an impressed circle. There are no chips or cracks. 5 1/2" tall and approximately 4 1/2" in diameter.
