From the early to mid 1800s, a lovely blue and white romantic scene ironstone plate by Davenport, one of the best known Staffordshire potteries. This 10 sided plate features a wide floral border and a center "Romantic Scene" of a castle and trees. The pattern is called "Friburg".
This plate measures 10 3/4" in diameter and is marked on the reverse as shown. There are no chips or cracks except on the foot rim, and there is some discoloration on the back as well. The front is fine and in good antique condition.
