Exquisite 9 1/8" tall hand painted antique Nippon vase with beautiful Japanese design and flowers along with Greek key borders and fantastic gilded scroll handles. Please take a look at all the photos to appreciate the complex beauty of this pedestal vase, and we should mention that it's even prettier in person. In addition to the 9 1/8" height, it measures 6 3/4" handle to handle, and the top vase diameter is 5 1/4", while the base diameter is is 4 5/8". It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs, and there is no loss to the decoration, only a whisper of wear to the gilt on the handles--beautiful! It's marked on the bottom with the green M-in-wreath mark of the Morimura Brothers, which dates this piece c.1911. The vase shape is shown in Van Patten's ABCs of Collecting Nippon Porcelain.
