Weller Pottery Art Nouveau Luxor vase, 7 3/8" tall and in excellent condition. The vase has a matte finish in greige and and free, elongated design on either side and flowers at the bottom. Green interior. Unmarked but well cataloged as Weller.
This vase dates c. 1910. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, fascination with all things Egypt was at its peak. The western world, including American potteries such as Weller and Roseville, introduced lines of art pottery that celebrated Egyptian art work. So it is with this pattern, which Weller called Luxor.
