A very high quality and very lovely antique Staffordshire plate. the motif is Asian inspired, with Asian pheasants, chrysanthemums, and a marvelously detailed border with cloisonné inspired backgrounds featuring leaves and flowers. The plate measures 10 1/8" in diameter and is in excellent condition with no kiln flaws, chips, or cracks. This pieces dates to the early 19th century, mostly like 1820 - 1850. It's marked prominently on the reverse with the traditional lion and unicorn mark with a banner inside that reads Ich Dien, the Prince of Wales' motto. Beneath the mark is a banner that reads "Improved Stone China". We have been unable to determine the maker.
