A wonderful antique American primitive--a hand forged very large brass pot or pan with iron handle made to be used in a kitchen fireplace or over a large cooking fire. Whether used as a jelly pan or for preparing meats or stews, we don't know. We do suspect that this would be a plantation piece or made for an inn due to its size.
The pot (excluding the handle) is 13" in diameter and 5" high. The riveted iron handle with hanging loop is 15 1/4" long, making the piece 28 1/4" long when hanging.
The piece is in "as found" condition and has not been cleaned--please see photos. If you are looking for an authentic antique for your kitchen or fireplace, this would be it.
The pot weighs 5 1/2 lbs before packing, and shipping will be via FedEx Ground/Home Delivery, insurance included.
