Without question, one of the nicest vintage costume jewelry sets we've ever had! A large (inner strand measures 25") graduated glass bead necklace with 3 strands of beads in a fabulous cat's eye shading of deep to light greens with medium brown inclusion lines. We're not jewelry experts, but the beads range in size from pea size at the neck to gum ball size at the center. Even the clasp is beaded, so it looks great when the necklace shows in the back. The clasp is marked Vendome as shown. The matching clip earrings are 1" in diameter and marked Jewelcraft. This is a great necklace to wear with plunging necklines or over a favorite blouse or top. The colors will look great year-round.
Vendome was a trademark of the Coro jewelry company, used for its high end costume jewelry. Jewelcraft was also owned by Coro and used on pieces made in England. We believe this set to be British and likely dates to the 1940s. It's absolutely delicious and in excellent condition, with only some surface wear to the underside of the clasp.
