3 Hawkes Crystal Birr Tall Champagne Wine Glasses
If we had to pick one American glass house that produced the most beautiful cut glass tableware, we'd choose Hawkes of Corning, New York. Hawkes was instrumental in starting the Steuben glass company to provide "blanks" (uncut glass) to its factory for cutting by its highly skilled workers.
We have 3 of these beautifully cut glass tall wine, champagne, or sherbet glasses in the "Birr" pattern. A band of deeply cut Xs around the upper rim with small cut ovals or teardrops beneath, followed by larger leaf shaped ovals around the lower bowl. A knop stem and base with cut ovals completes the design. All three glasses are signed Hawkes on the base. 5" tall and in excellent condition.
