A handsome pair of antique English or Irish decanters. These are mold blown and then hand cut with paneled rounded flutes on the neck and surround. Because these are hand cut, there is a slight difference in the cutting on each decanter--reminds us of identical twins, the same but with slight differences.
Each decanter is 12 7/8" tall to the top of the stopper, 10" to the decanter lip. Each has matching numbers on the stopper and bottle, indicating they are original and made to go together. One is marked with the number 10, the other with a 2. The blanks have beautiful clarity.
The condition of both decanters is very, very good. There are a couple of nicks to the lip--we've shown the worst in a close up photo. These are hardly visible when sitting on a table or sideboard. One stopper has a few edge nibbles at the very bottom.
The decanters glow a pale yellow-y green when exposed to UV light. We believe these date to the mid 1800s and would be classified as late Georgian or early Victorian.
The pair weigh over 6 lbs before packing, and shipping will be via FedEx Ground/Home Delivery, insurance included.
