Inspired by the art glass of Rene Lalique, American maker Consolidated Glass began making art glass in the 1920s. This wonderful large vase dates to the period and is part of its Martele line with poppies in relief on frosted glass. The piece is further embellished with ormolu brass mounts around the rim and foot. The vase stands 9 1/2" tall and approximately 8" in diameter at its widest. The top diameter is 5 1/4". The piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The ormolu is also in great condition with minimal color loss, though we notice it sits slightly askew (about 1/16") at the top--hardly noticeable but mentioned for accuracy. This is a very elegant piece of art glass from the Art Deco era - a "Wow!".
The vase weighs 4 lbs before packing, and shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail.
