C. 1900 C. F. Monroe Wave Crest, Meriden, CT large round rich cut American Brilliant Glass jewelry or collar box. This piece is a knockout! The top is cut with a central faceted hobstar and is surrounded by a variety of motifs including cross hatch beveled diamonds, stars, deep vessica cuts, and fans. The lower sides are cut with elongated cut bevels, and the base has a bevel cut star. The mounts are silver plate. This piece is much larger than the standard hinged powder jar or jewelry box, measuring 7 3/4" diameter across the bottom, 6 5/8" in diameter across the top, and 4" tall. Condition is very, very good with no cracks, only one small ding on one of the rays on the base. The silver plate is worn but in good condition, and the hinge is fine. This piece is all about the glass, and if you love American Brilliant glass, you'll want to add this to your collection. It's stunning.
