A stunning very large American Art Glass center bowl by Fry Glass. This wonderful piece is mouth blown colorless glass and features a diamond optic pattern and crimped or ruffled rim with black glass threading. Both Fry and Steuben did threaded or reeded glass (what's the difference? "threaded" glass is uniform and the molten glass was applied by machine; "reeded" glass is irregular, often thinner, and may be applied by the glassmaker or machine), and it looks just as great with today's modern decor as it did during its heyday of the late 1910s and 1920s.
This bowl has a large polished pontil and measures 13 1/2" top diameter and stands 3 5/8" high at the rim. It's in very good condition for its age with no chips, cracks, or broken threads. It does, however, have shelf wear to the base commensurate with age and use, and there are a few light scratches when the bowl is held to strong light.
Whether your decor is antique, traditional, or modern, this piece will blend beautifully!
The bowl weighs a bit under 3 lbs before packing, and shipping will be via FedEx Ground/Home Delivery, insurance included.
