A beautiful antique perfume decanter by the Elson Glass company of Martins Ferry, Ohio, circa 1883. This piece is shown in their catalog for that date and is listed simply as part of its #88 line of EAPG (early American Pattern or Pressed Glass). The pattern became known and Daisy and Button and remains popular to this day.
This wonderful large piece stands 7 7/8" tall to the top of the stopper, which is original. The body is 2 7/8" square and has a marvelous square stepped shoulder leading to a fluted neck and wide rim. The bottom is clear and has a "cut shut" pontil.
There are no chips or cracks to this piece and the glass is clear.
This piece will look lovely on a dresser or vanity, as a bath accessory, or even as a decanter on a sideboard.
