A collection of 4 pieces of antique Boston & Sandwich blown flint glass table items. The collection includes
1 bowl measuring 4 3/4" top diameter and 2 3/8" high
2 whisky glasses, each measuring 2 1/4" tall
1 cheese dome measuring 6 1/2" in diameter and 6 1/2" tall.
The pattern consists of wheel cut Roman key (sometimes called Greek key) decoration encircling the upper portion of each piece along with stars scattered about the glass. Likely made in the 1880s and very similar to a star pattern of tableware owned by George Washington. This flint glass, particularly the bowl, rings like a bell when tapped with a pencil. The glass on the bowl and whiskeys is very thin and delicate; the dome, of course, is thicker and has a wonderful annealed stopper with air trap bubble. All four pieces are in very good antique condition with no cracks or chips. the Roman key etch on the whisky glasses is slightly worn, and there are a few minuscule fleabites to the bottom edge of the dome which were too small to photograph and to be expected from use. Overall, the set is a 9.5 out of 10 and will be a wonderful addition to your collection.
The set weighs just under 2 1/2 lbs before packing, and shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail.
