One of the prettiest antique pitchers we've ever had--a beautifully made and decorated large pitcher by Harrach. Done in the Victorian style, the upper portion of the pitcher is done in jade or mint green glass with graceful folded rim. The semi-opaqueness of the green glass shades to a translucent pale green on the lobed bottom half. the front of the pitcher is hand decorated and enameled with a large yellow and white flower (resembles a daffodil), and finished with enameled gold tracery leaves, stems, and branches. Exquisite reeded handle. There may have been fielding on the rim edge at one time, but it is gone, though this in no way detracts from the beauty of this piece. This is a large pitcher, standing just under 9" tall and having a diameter of approximately 7" at its widest. The pitcher fluoresces nicely (bottom, too, though it doesn't show well in the photo) when exposed to black light as can be seen in the photo. The bottom has a ground and polished pontil as shown, and you can see the remains of the gold Harrach plume or propeller mark; it appears that the numbers to the right of the propeller mark are long gone, as only traces remain. The piece is in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, heat checks, or loss to the floral and gilt decoration. It is stunning.
The pitcher weighs just under 3 lbs before packing, and shipping will be via FedEx Ground/Home Delivery, insurance included.
