Simply gorgeous antique Limoges porcelain vase from the Martial Redon factory, 1890's. We love this vase because of it's grand size (8 1/2" tall, 8" handle to handle, and 3" front to back at the foot) and the fact that is has beautiful pink and green florals on one side and a coquettish portrait of a jeune fille with bird perched on her shoulder on the other side. It's like getting 2 vases in 1! We also love the daub or mottled effect of the gold trim on the handles (this is NOT paint loss but the way it was made), which is the perfect foil for the gold on the foot applied to look like mosaic. The vase is marked with a plethora of Redon marks: the green MR France, the red Redon initials, and incised marks as well. An exceptional example of fine 19th century Limoges porcelain.
