Early 1900's hand painted cup and saucer having a pale green shaded background and decorated with pink roses, green leaves, and brown branches. The cup has a beautiful double loop gold handle, and both pieces have gold trim and daubs. The saucer is 5 3/4" in diameter and the cup is 2 1/2" tall. No chips, cracks, or crazing; there is a stray gold run on the interior of the cup near the handle as shown which appears to have been done during manufacture. The saucer is unmarked, while the cup bears only the word "Germany" on the bottom. The decoration and overall look are similar to fine Limoges porcelain of the period, and both pieces are delicate and translucent. A lovely set.
