A stunning Limoges porcelain plate from the house of Flambeau, dating 1890-1910. Beautifully hand painted and signed by the artist, a single perfect lavender bearded iris stands front and center on a buttery yellow background, enhanced by green leaves and coral shading. The scalloped and embossed rim is banded in gold. The plate measures 9 5/8" in diameter and free of any chips, cracks, or repairs. It is marked on the reverse with 2 Flambeau marks, indicating that it was decorated by one of the factory artists who signed the front. There is a small, factory drilled hole for hanging in the foot rim of the plate. A wonderful example of French porcelain and an investment in beauty.
