This lovely antique charger exudes Old World charm from a bygone era. Dating between 1891 and 1914, it measures 12" in diameter and features a gilded scalloped rim with raised dots. The rim has shadow leaves with garlands of gilt roses in-between on a background of shaded green and peach typical of Bavarian manufactures. The center spray of pink and white roses sits on a pale cream/green background blushed with pink. The charger has a few minor imperfections (so minor others may not even mention them) and we have priced this piece at the "steal" level. There are 2 faint smudge lines on the plate, one at the top and one at the bottom--you can barely see them in the close-up photos. They are light but there and appear to be underglaze but we feel they should be mentioned. There is an old and very well done repair to a tiny chip on the rim--pictured and looking much worse in the photo--and we've also taken a photo of the back of it so you can see how minor it is--we think this probably came from a wire hanger. In a china cabinet or hung on a wall, you'd be hard pressed to see any of this. The plate has "Germany" lightly impressed twice on the back--we could not get this to show. This is a wonderful old plate in a hard-to-find size.
