A stunning antique Limoges porcelain cabinet plate. This is a factory piece with the white ware or blank having been manufactured by the Coiffe factory and decorated in the Beaux-Arts decorating studio by listed artist Y. Golis. These completely Limoges made and decorated plates are the most sought after! The plate measures 8 5/8" in diameter and has wonderfully applied gold trim on the scalloped rim. The beautiful gold, green, burnt orange, and purple tinged grape leaves, shadowed in blue-gray, are the perfect foil for the masterfully painted bunch of purple grapes that takes center stage. More shadowy leaves and grapes add to the beauty of this plate. It is in excellent condition, no chips, cracks, or losses. The marks date this piece between 1890-1914. Limoges porcelain at its best!
