Flambeau China operated from the 1890's to 1914 in Limoges, France. This plate is an example of their finest factory decorated ware. Measuring just under 11" in diameter, the plate is hand painted with gorgeous yellow, pale pink, and deep pink roses and huge green leaves. The background is blue shading to peach, and the scalloped rim is beautifully gilded. The plate is signed by the master who painted it, and though it is somewhat hard to make out the script, we believe it is "Engre". The plate bears the Flambeau torch white ware mark and the factory decorated mark as pictured. This was made as a display piece and has a factory drilled hole in the footrim, where the original wire and rope still remain. This is a beautiful piece, and we think you'll agree that it is breathtakingly beautiful. It is in excellent condition, free of any chips, cracks, or damage.
