This antique Limoges porcelain plate is so much prettier in person than our photos show--the raised hand painted decoration on the roses makes you want to pick them! This plate has a wonderful embossed and gilded border with gold cartouches "handles" on either side. The cluster of roses have shadowy leaves, and each cluster has pink, blue, and golden yellow around it. There are gilt enamel sprays of flowers and leaves between each cluster. This plate measures 10 3/4" and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs and only a whisper of wear to the gold decoration. The reverse of the plate is has 2 marks: the Coiffe Limoges factory mark and the Lewis Straus & Sons mark, indicating this charger was made between 1891-1914 and likely factory decorated.
