A fine Limoges porcelain cake plate or serving tray factory decorated in Limoges and imported by the Lewis Strauss firm between 1891 and the early 1920's. If you love gilding, then the gold decoration on this plate will dazzle you! The embossed and scalloped border has a 5/8" band of gold at its narrowest, with the embossed handles having over 2" of lavish gold decoration. The pattern features swags of roses and green leaves interspersed with crimson oak leaves, also decorated with gold. The plate features a center gold medallion in lacy gold. The plate measures 11" handle to handle and is in immaculate condition.
