Magnificent Pouyat Limoges cider or lemonade bulbous pitcher hand decorated with native American corn or maize--just superb! One side has 3 ears of corn, 2 golden yellow and a center cob of rich burgundy, while the other side of the pitcher has a spectacular ear of raspberry red corn with green husks. The pitcher's body has a background color of peach, varying in hue from pale to rich, sun-kissed colors reminiscent of American southwestern sunsets. The pitcher is in excellent condition with no losses, damage, or repairs. It measures 5 3/8" high, 8" across. It is marked with the green underglaze JPL mark, used from 1862 until the early 1900's. A substantial piece, weighing 2 1/2 lbs.
