A hard-to-find original 1912 edition of the book "Sinking of the Titanic" "Memorial Edition" "Thrilling Stories Told by Survivors". This book was published in 1912, only a few months after the sinking of the great ship Titanic on April 15, 1912.
No doubt many people have seen movies and documentaries about the famous maritime disaster, yet reading the accounts of the passengers on the ill-fated vessel is compelling, and it gives names and faces to both survivors and those who perished on that terrible night. Its 295 pages include many first person accounts, analysis of the ship's construction, and a complete passenger list. 16 full page photos and additional charts and photos are also included.
The book is in fair condition. The front cover is faded and soiled, the back cover appears to have had something spilled on it (or was set on a wet surface--see photo), the corners are frayed, and the spine is loose. The pages are yellowed, and page 33 is about 75% loose as I think you can see from the side view photo. The rest of the pages appear to be firm in the binding. There is one 1" tear to the inside bottom of page 3--you can see it in the photo of the page with "Memorial Edition" at the top.
If you are fascinated by the Titanic story, you will love this book.
