EXCELLENT ALPHABET ABC PLATE
Staffordshire England ~ c. 1850
This 6 1/8 " alphabet plate has a crisp image transfer printed in rich black with two wide bands of rich red along the rim and top edge of the well The plate feature an impressed border with the entire alphabet ~ A to Z. The plate has a thick pearlware glaze.
The central transfer is of men in the woodlot persistently working to fall the great oaks.
CONSTANT DROPPING WEARS AWAY STONES ~ AND LITTLE STROKES FALL GREAT OAKS.
Franklin demonstrates that small things done consistently can have great effect.
Condition is excellent, a very tiny nick off the edge of the rim.
