VERY EARLY CREAMWARE PLATE
Staffordshire, England ~ c. 1830
This is an early plate made of a soft paste earthenware. The plate measures 7 1/2 " in diameter. It is crisply transfer printed with the blue pondlng of pearlware glaze.
The border is impressed with flowers with flower sprays. A blue piping along the outer rim and a central transfer of a young boy reading to his mother.
The plate is in great condition, there are no chips, cracks or repairs. A 2 " fine line off the rim.
