VERY EARLY PEARLWARE PLATE
Staffordshire England ~ c. 1830
This fabulous earthenware antique plate measures 5 1/4 " in diameter. The plate has a slightly wavy edge with a moulded border of continuous flower heads and foliage. A broad green stripe warps around the central image of an old man giving a present to a child on leading string held by a woman.

Clean shiny and bright. Light weight and beautifully potted. Two natural kiln kisses to the rim from the pottery and two utensil marks with associated glaze flaking.
