This toy is an engineering marvel. Made in U. S. Zone Western Germany by Goso, circa 1949. The toy includes two 15” towers, one of which contains wind-up mechanism to raise cars up to top level of tower for entry. Two lithographed 4” gondola cars with passengers are included. Luckily the original set up booklet is still there as is the original key. When toy is completely assembled, all parts are numbered, it is a gigantic 20x42” in size. Gondola cars have weighted wheels and upon rising up through the tower and entering the track, each does a series of loops, cross-overs and back and forth motions and returns to the tower with the wind-up motor assisting elevator to start over again. The wind up mechanism works very well. Great lithography throughout makes this a wonderful toy on display. The overall condition is wonderful, just light play wear. I will note the issues I did see: elevator cable (rubber?) is gone but this is easily replaced, one car missing front wheels, some tabs that join posts to their bases are gone. One person each car, I think there should be 2? . It is fully operational, just needs a new cable to work the elevator.
This toy without box sold on ebay for $1990. As I have no box and the set has a few minor detractions I am offering it at a very very low price.
