These beautiful Miriam Haskell green and blue art glass tiered earrings by her very popular designer Lawrence Vrba are a piece of stand alone vintage earrings and an iconic piece of art! The earrings are 1 3/4 inches long by 5/8 inch wide. These have the patented ‘oh so comfy' adjustable tension clip backs, there is no worry with them being too tight, too loose or uncomfortable. You can adjust them easily and quickly to the perfect fit! They are signed, HASKELL, on their clip backs, MIRIAM HASKELL, on the base pads and Pat. 3176475, on the adjustable screw pad for the patent awarded to N.J. Saccoccio on Apr. 6, 1965. The gilt finish is nice and bright. The glass appears in good condition and we say this, only because there does appear to be a manufacturing flaw that is very hard to notice when worn, it can only be readily seen when viewing the earring effected from upside down (hard to do when they are being worn), but we must note it. One of the bottom bells has a 'rough' edge for an area of about 1/2 inch, as best we can tell it came out of it's 'mold' this way and is not visible under normal wearing conditions. (Have to assume that's why it passed its' original inspections-as it appears to us to have always been like this.)
These earrings and others in this collection using the green and blue glass in their construction may be seen on page 221 of the book by Cathy Gordon and Sheila Pamfiloff, copyright 2004; see photo no. 3 here of our listing, for one of these photos from their book used here for reference that illustrates these pieces. This marvelous book depicted is a great reference for any Haskell collector.

Miriam Haskell Jewelry is beautiful, classic, stylish and distinctive; one of the most recognizable designer styles though out the decades, since the 1920's. These are just a few of the reasons her jewelry has retained and continues to increase in value; as well as, remained so collectible. The great designers that followed the original Frank Hess; Robert Clark, Peter Raines, Lawrence Vrba, Millie Petronzio and Robert Lee Morris though-out the years have managed to carry on this classic style first developed by Frank Hess with Ms. Haskell, while adding their own subtle, distinctive touches and flare. If it is not obvious, we are fans!
