Reinad vintage curb chain collar necklace with matching climber baguette rhinestone earrings are in excellent vintage condition, appearing as if they were seldom if ever worn (white spots are from the photographer's lighting). They are available now for purchase.
The curb style chains in this necklace are soldered together to form a three row necklace 15 1/2 inches long by 3/4 inch wide with a signed, Reinad, fold over clasp. The earrings are a large 1 3/4 inch long using a larger same style curb link chain; they climb and seductively hug the outside outline of your ear with the clear white baguette rhinestones in a row on the inside of the chain; a very feminine sexy set! These display minimal desirable age appropriate mellowing with minimal light wear to the finish, simply stunning, nothing in my opinion which detracts from their fashionable appeal (some might consider small signs of vintage use undesirable), I revel in a find like this as proof that affirms the age and authenticity of the pieces, they will receive a gentle professional hand cleaning, if needed, but no attempt will be made to cover up their vintage previous 50 to 80 beautiful years of life. Your questions about a specific item for sale in my shop are always welcome. This beautiful, classic and classy set is sure to become a mainstay in your wardrobe accessories collection for many occasions, seasons, events and ensembles to come! B E A U T I F U L on and for YOU !
Reinad of New York City was in business from 1922 until the mid-1950's. They produced few designs under their own name, but were a jobber / wholesale facility producing jewelry for many of the high end names you will recognize: Boucher, Carnegie and Eisenberg, to name just a few. In 1941, their first retail pieces were produce under the name Chanel Novelty Co. and have became some of the rarest and most sought after of all costume jewelry (Chanel in script). Coco Chanel sued and won a case against them that same year for name infringement. The company changed its name to Reinad Novelty Company; still continuing to produce only a very few high quality pieces under the signature Reinad. Fred Rezazadeh in his book 'Costume Jewelry' stated "If you see a piece of Reinad jewelry you like, try to buy it, for you will not get a second chance." It is always on our hunt list! (L6043)
