Miriam Haskell vintage beautiful glass turquoise brooch and earrings in excellent condition with tons of rose montees in its layers, I can detect none missing and the brooch has a large central rhinestone, as well as, too numerous to count rose montee. The glass turquoise are the wonderful Art Deco flat 'aspirin' style. In keeping with metal still being in short supply after WWII, the backing of the brooch and the earrings can tell us a great deal about the age of the these pieces, they were early post-WWII. The solid clip covering for the back of the brooch, signed Miriam Haskell in an oval cartouche would have probably been one of the first ones of that style of signature. The pretty filigree mixed metal earring backs with their remnant traces of silver plating, one of brass and the other appearing of copper, showed that metal for jewelry still wasn't yet plentiful. Here is beauty and wearable history too! The brooch measures 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/4 inches by 1/2 inch proud and the earrings measured 7/8 inches round; one earring has Miriam Haskell in the horseshoe cartouche and both have properly functioning French clips. Still more than en-tack, beautiful ... gorgeous and wearable...Amazing!
Miriam Haskell Jewelry is beautiful, classic, stylish and distinctive; one of the most recognizable designer styles though out the decades since the 1920's. These are just a few of the reasons her jewelry has retained and continues to increase in value; as well as, remained so collectible. The great designers that followed Frank Hess; Robert Clark, Peter Raines, Larry Vrba, Millie Petronzio and Robert Lee Morris though out the years have managed to carry on the classic style first developed by Frank Hess with Ms. Haskell, while adding their own subtle and not so subtle touches and flare. If it is not obvious, we are fans! (L5553)
