Vintage Miriam Haskell floral set of large naturally smooth sensuous Cowrie sea shells forming corsage like brooch and earrings, the set is in excellent vintage condition. Miriam Haskell wasn't the only vintage designer to work with Cowrie sea shells in their vintage jewelry designs, others such as GUCCI chose them to work with too. If history bears true this would have been a favorite of Ms. Haskell herself, as it's was said her favorites, were pieces from the natural elements; shell, coral, stone etc.
This stunning set appears as if it were seldom worn, making it even more desirable. The shells forming the flowers in the beautiful corsage are slightly larger than the ones in flower bud shaped earrings. The brooch measures a very respectable 2 5/8 inches long by 2 inches wide and it's signed, Miriam Haskell, on a oval cartouche, attached to its hand wired filigree base. The earrings measure 1 1/4 inches by 1 inch and are 3/4 inch proud; each earring is signed, MIRIAM HASKELL. The earring's base pad and the earring's clip backs are stamped with PAT. 2400513; with these patented `oh so comfy' adjustable tension clip backs there's no worry in being too tight, too loose or uncomfortable; you can adjust them easily and quickly to the perfect fit! This set will be a pure joy for wear or display for many years, occasions, seasons, events and ensembles to come! The set is sure to be a wearable ART find for you by one of the world's premier designers, enjoy the complements it will bring to its wearer!
Miriam Haskell Jewelry is beautiful, classic, stylish and distinctive; one of the most recognizable designer styles though out the decades since the 1920's. These are just a few of the reasons her jewelry has retained and continues to increase in value; as well as, remained so collectible. The great designers that followed Frank Hess; Robert Clark, Peter Raines, Larry Vrba, Millie Petronzio and Robert Lee Morris though out the years have managed to carry on the classic style first developed by Frank Hess with Ms. Haskell, while adding their own subtle and not so subtle touches and flare. If it is not obvious, we are fans! (K8882)
