Vintage R. De Rosa mid-century faux coral centered earrings with pearlescent 'baby's tooth' mother of pearl petals ( the mother of pearl looks very realistic, believe it to be faux ) either way, they are gorgeous earrings and they're being offered for your consideration. These signed button clip earrings are in excellent vintage condition.
R. De Rosa Co. was founded in New York City in 1934 by Ralph De Rosa who emigrated to New York City, from Italy, the son of a renowned family of jewelers. His company is best known for its exceptionally designed jewelry inspired by the opulent precious jewelry from the royal courts of the world, produced from highest quality components. After Mr. De Rosa’s death in 1942, the company was run under the same principles by his daughter Elvira, known as Vera, who was herself a designer, his wife Virginia and his second daughter, Theresa. The company continued to produce jewelry until 1970. R. De Rosa Co. jewelry was expensive during its time of production and is still highly collectible and sought after today. Love being able to offer my clients, such lovely earrings and small gifts of history!
Compliments abounded for the wearer of these earrings, 50 or more years ago and just as many will flow for you today! These dynamite beauties measure a large 5/8 inch proud and are a very showy 1 1/8 inches in diameter; the gilding is in lovely condition as are earrings as a whole. They display only very minor signs of wear and any wear, you must really look for to find; only minor wear to the finish was found on our inspection, nothing in my opinion that detracts from their stunning appeal only that that affirms their age and authenticity. A timeless addition to your accessories collection which will add a striking stand-alone statement of style and wearable art, the perfect accessory for so many occasions, seasons, events and ensembles.
