Vintage Castlecliff hand-blown swirling purple baroque hand-blown glass earrings with tiny dark purple accenting elements and rhinestone rhondel, all hand wired onto gilded brass, ala, early Haskell style and every bit as lovely are being offered for your consideration. These are in excellent vintage condition.
Castlecliff's ad motto starting in 1945 until their end in 1970 was "The Talked about Jewelry" and almost every piece of their jewelry we have picked up makes us realize why. The company began life in 1937 as Castlemark and signed its creations briefly by the same name from 1941 until the name change to Castlecliff in 1945; finding some of those early scarce signed pieces can truly be a FIND! Their beautiful designs, use of fine components, excellent construction and execution; rank them among the finest jewelry companies the U.S.A. has ever produced. Wonderful designers too; a name many of you will recognize, like Larry Vrba, had his historical design beginnings there as head designer. Fascinatingly beautiful and innovative pieces like this one remain in excellent condition after all these years and they are always on our hunt list.
This magnificent displays of glass & gilded brass from the 50's is every bit the quality in construction and components as a Haskell or a De Mario and remains in wonderful condition! They are not perfect circles at approximately 1 inch in diameter and slightly more than 1/2 inch proud. Each is signed, CastleCliff, on their properly functioning clip backs. These display desirable age appropriate mellowing, light wear with a few light scratches to the finish and under close or magnified inspection some light desirable peppering in the rhinestones may be observed, nothing in our opinion that detracts from their stunning appeal only that that affirms their age and authenticity. A gorgeous, classic and striking stand-alone addition to any accessories collection; the perfect touch for so many occasions, seasons, events and ensembles now and for many seasons and ensembles to come!
