Vintage EUGENE's 13-strand faceted topaz and bronze glass awesome bib necklace and earrings are being offered for your consideration. All that glitters may not be gold, but this set would certainly make Cleopatra do a TRIPLE take! The set is all glass in shades of topaz and glittering bronze and it is pure GLITZ in excellent vintage condition!
Eugene Jewelry (1952-1962) was designed and handcrafted by Eugene Schultz. Mr. Schultz's family says he once designed for Miriam Haskell before setting out on his own. Miriam Haskell Jewelry denies this; however the grand lady's influence is very clear, whether he ever designed for her or not. Mr Schultz and his small staff produced jewelry for only 10 years; it is scarce in the market place and is always a coveted find for the collector and lover of fine quality costume jewelry!
Pictures cannot show you how magnificently this set reflects the light; its amazing; flashes and sparkles everywhere! The necklace's 13 STRANDS are 8 of glass metallic bronze seed beads, 2 strands of slightly different shades of topaz faceted glass / crystal and 3 strands of metalized faceted gold / bronze glass elements. The earrings are formed by two ornate topaz / bronze glass element flowers on gilded filigree bases with signed, EUGENE, properly functioning clip backs each measures a very respectable 1 3/8 inches long by 1 inch wide. The shortest stand of the necklace is 14 inches with a 3 inch extension for lengthening the necklace to up to 17 inches and it uses Eugene Schultz's typical early rhinestone baguette bar / and pear hook clasp /closure which was unsigned. These pieces display only desirable age appropriate minor mellowing and light wear to the finish nothing that detracts from their stunning appeal only that that affirms their age and authenticity. It is museum quality; fit for a Queen, television news anchor personality, bridal party member, you can see yourself here; the perfect accessory for so many occasions, seasons, events and ensembles!
