Rare vintage Mosell, dimensional lily pad earrings with purple rhinestones and very glossy gold gilt settings are being offered for your consideration. Pictures do not do these large beauties justice, their gilded setting are so wonderfully tactile with varied textures, heights and sheen surfaces; they play with light beautifully and we're not even considering the brilliant rhinestones in that statement! They are in excellent condition, appearing as if seldom if ever worn.
Their famous creator / designer Frederick Mosell opened his business in 1940; his first collection was presented in 1941 and in it possessed some of costume jewelry's most sought after an iconic pieces ever produced. The Brunialti's considered them and him worthy of inclusion in Vol.I American Costume Jewelry Art & Industry 1935-1950, shown on page 245. Sadly by the end of the 1950's little is heard from Mosell but his rare jewelry pieces are always on our hunt list for you!
These stunners sparkle, dance and play with the light so beautifully and they are large too; abstractly triangular in shape they measure 1 1/2 inches, by 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/4 inches; while being 1/2 inch proud; definitely show offs!! These lily pads have gorgeous rhinestone purple flowers to show off too, made of dark amethyst baguettes, round and oval rhinestones too, they have traditionally clear white rhinestone centers; 4 on each lily pad! The earrings are both signed, Mosell, on their properly functioning clip backs. If you have purple, amethyst or shades of any in your wardrobe, you need to add these timeless beauties to your wardrobe accessories collection! (K5824)
