Vintage De Mario draping 3 strand black facet glass necklace with loads of glistening gilded brass accents, pretty as a picture flower box clasp closure. Necklace will arrive with a lovely complimentary (free) pair of black glass era authentic De Mario black glass button clip back earrings, signed. This beautiful necklace is in excellent vintage condition, as are the earrings that have been added at no additional charge to round out this offering.
The necklace has a pretty floral box clasp that functions as it was designed, it measures a large 3/4 inches in diameter and is signed, De Mario with the copyright logo. This multi-strand necklace's shortest strand is 17 inches and the longest is 19 inches, so it is also comfortable to wear with just the right amount glitz to turn their heads, it is very feminine and will get its wearer noticed too! This displays minor desirable age appropriate mellowing with light wear to the finish, nothing in my opinion which detracts from its stunning appeal (some might consider small signs of vintage use undesirable), I revel in a find like this as proof that affirms the age and authenticity of the pieces, it will receive a gentle professional hand cleaning, if needed, but no attempt will be made to cover up its vintage previous 50 to 80 beautiful years of life. Your questions about a specific item for sale in my shop are always welcome (The complementary earrings will arrive clean and ready to wear). A timeless little black number to add your accessories wardrobe which will add a striking stand-alone statement with lasting appeal for a night out on the town or pair it with the button earrings for a great day at the office!
Robert De Mario, the designer of this necklace is referred to as a disciple of Miriam Haskell in many reference books and although Haskell Jewelry denies that he ever worked for them, her influence on his construction & design is undeniable. DeMario Jewelry (1945 – 1960) has never been plentiful in the market place and it is becoming more & more difficult to find pieces by this magnificent designer in good condition; it is always a coveted find for the collector and lover of fine quality costume jewelry alike.
