From the famous Hector Aguilar for Coro's vintage Mexico Silver division is an over 3 inch flower brooch with a large beautiful stepped red glass stone being offered to you for your consideration. This gorgeous brooch is in excellent vintage condition.
Coro Made in Mexico Silver was produced from 1943 - 1950 ( the World War II era), designed by the famous Hector Aguilar for Coro and produced by his studio of silversmiths; in the late 1940's these artisans were called Taller Barda, in Taxco, Mexico. During the World War II era sterling silver was rationed for jewelry making in the United States and the demand for quality silver jewelry exceed the supply; many manufactures, including Coro, sought high quality sources to produce lines they could offer fashion conscious customers within the U.S.A. . These Mexican Silver Coro high quality pieces are scarce in the market place today and are all highly collectible.
This huge flower measures just over 3 inches tall at 3 1/16 inches and 3 inches wide by 3/4 inches proud with a very shiny pink vermeil ( pink gold washed or gold over silver) finish. The beautiful open back original stepped glass stone measures 25 mm by 18 mm. The back of the brooch is signed, Coro Made in Mexico and Silver, in a circular stamping; the pin back is every so slightly wavy, sharp and functions properly with the locking 'C' clasp. There is desirable age appropriate light wear nothing in our opinion that detracts from its stunning appeal only that that affirms its age and authenticity. A timeless addition to your accessories wardrobe to make a striking statement with lasting appeal, the perfect accessory for so many occasions, seasons, events and ensembles! (K4521)
