Miriam Haskell outstanding vintage swirling agate art glass matinee length necklace and its matching pendant drop earrings are being offered for your consideration. The set is in excellent vintage condition.
Miriam Haskell Jewelry is beautiful, classic, stylish and distinctive; one of the most recognizable designer styles though out the decades since the 1920's. These are just a few of the reasons her jewelry has retained and continues to increase in value; as well as, remained so collectible. Great designers; Robert Clark, Peter Raines, Larry Vrba, Millie Petronzio and Robert Lee Morris though out those years have managed to carry on the classic style first developed by Frank Hess with Ms. Haskell, while adding their own subtle and not so subtle touches and flare. If it is not obvious, we are fans!
What a marvelous find for your treasure chest of wardrobe accessories! A 24 inch long matinee length necklace with it's properly functioning signed beautiful filigree box clasp closure, who's underside surface does display a darker age patina than the filigree top with no corrosion. Your 'new' necklace has fine metal and multiple glass elements between each hand crafted swirling ( no 2 alike ) agate spheres; the metal elements used between the glass display different finishes or perhaps different patinas, their are small corrugated Russian gold cones which are aging nicely in the expected varying tones and the tiniest flower end caps which are all a very dark bronze color by design or by age (?) next to small very dark red brown, carnelian glass elements used in combination with other glass elements to separate the agate art glass pieces. The agate elements of both the necklace and earrings measure 14mm or just under 1/2 inch in diameter. The very pretty pendant earrings have a Russian gold flower top which supports the glass agate drops which are very feminine and the assembly measures 1 1/2 inches long making for substantial earrings with this set. These have the patented ‘oh so comfy' adjustable tension clip backs, so there is no worry with them being too tight, too loose or uncomfortable; you can adjust them easily and quickly to the perfect fit! They are signed, HASKELL, on the clip backs, MIRIAM HASKELL, on the base pads and Pat. 3176475 on the adjustable screw pad for the patent awarded to N.J. Saccoccio on Apr. 6, 1965. We can find no damage of note and have mentioned the 'faults' of note to the set in our write up. Light desirable age appropriate mellowing and finish wear to the gilding (a possible occasional tiny nick might be found due age but you would have to hunt) with this magnificent find for your treasure chest. Brenda's Treasure's is critical of what is offered here so you will be happy with your purchase! The perfect accessory for so many occasions, seasons, events and ensembles now and for so many future ones! (K3809)
