Art Deco famous McClelland Barclay sterling silver floral bells brooch with earring set in excellent vintage condition awaits its new owner, you perhaps?

All of the pieces are hallmarked, sterling, and all are signed with the artist's cartouche; each has been designed and created so well as to have not only survived the near 85 years but each looks as if it were produced by the master silversmith last year! Sheer beauty, only a few light surface scratches give any hint of the story of its 'age' at all. The three pieces weigh 15.7 grams; brooch measures 2 1/2 inches by 1 inch and the earrings measure 7/8 inch by 5/8 inch and 1/2 inch proud; all of their mechanisms function as designed. Fabulous additions to any wardrobe accessories collection for wear or display with your finest and with anything you choose to pair with them, they are Timeless!

McClelland Barclay ( born 1891, died serving his country during WWII in 1943 ) was an extremely talented painter, sculptor and illustrator. He designed gorgeous jewelry produced by the famous Rice - Warner for only a very short 6 year period from 1938 - 1943. It is all of exceptional quality and scarce in the market place today due to its limited production. His signature was, McClelland Barclay, done in a distinctive font stamped in an elongated cartouche with rounded edges soldered onto the back of the piece; it was also common on small items to cut the long cartouches and use either the first or last name portions to mark pieces of jewelry; usually when cut a couple letters of either partial name were included with the 'whole name'. Most all of his earrings were screw-backs; the standard of the time period, with only a few clip backs produced. All of his jewelry is highly collectable, commanding and retaining high premiums and it is always a pleasure to uncover it for our clients. ( K0433 - 095 )
