Vintage De Mario's all glass faceted tobacco topaz parure from the 1950's accented with glamorous Aurora Borealis rhinestones is being offered for your consideration. This beautiful double strand necklace with its glitzy glass and gilded brass accented floral filigree center piece, matching brooch and earrings are pure seductive eye candy and all are in excellent vintage condition.
Robert De Mario, the designer of this set was referred to as a disciple of Miriam Haskell in many reference books and although Haskell Jewelry denies that he ever worked for them, her influence on his construction & design is undeniable. DeMario Jewelry ( 1945 – 1960 ) has never been plentiful in the market place and it is becoming more & more difficult to find pieces by this magnificent designer in good condition; it is always a coveted find for the collector and lover of fine quality costume jewelry alike!
This is a real dazzling, head turning set; the center piece of the necklace is loaded with gilded floral filigree as are the earrings; the brooch is an exact copy of the centerpiece; and within the layers of filigree are layers of flashy topaz and Aurora Borealis rhinestones. The necklace measures 14 inches with a 4 inch extension for lengthening it to a comfortable 18 inches, the brooch measures 1 1/2 inches by 1 3/8 inches and is 7 /16 inch proud. The earrings measures 1 inch by 3/4 inch; there is a large 15 mm by 7mm domed faceted focal Aurora Borealis rhinestone central to each piece.. creating a real W O W presentation! All of the pieces are signed by their creator, DeMario. These display desirable age appropriate mellowing with light wear to the finish, most noticeable on the back of the pieces and under close or magnified inspection some light desirable peppering of the rhinestones may be observed, nothing in our opinion that detracts from their stunning appeal only that that affirms their age and authenticity. A timeless addition to your accessories wardrobe which will add a statement with lasting appeal ! (J9473)
