De Mario cascading exotic floral pendant earrings dripping with glass pearls, gilded brass leaves, filigree enclosed rhinestone buds and dangling mother of pearl 'flowers' are being offered for your consideration. These rare and elegant multiple pendant beauties are in excellent vintage condition.
Robert De Mario, the designer of this exotic floral pair of earrings is referred to as a disciple of Miriam Haskell in many reference books and although Haskell Jewelry denies that he ever worked for them, her influence on his construction & design is undeniable. DeMario Jewelry (1945 – 1960) has never been plentiful in the market place and it is becoming more & more difficult to find pieces by this magnificent designer in good condition; it is always a coveted find for the collector and lover of fine quality costume jewelry alike!
De Mario made very few drippy pendant earrings and coupled with their scarcity in the marketplace it makes coming across a pair like this seem more like finding a needle in a haystack; so we are very pleased to be able to offer these to our Ruby Lane clients! These are some of his finest and are signed on the earrings base pads, De Mario; they measure a whopping 2 1/4 inches long by 7/8 inches wide, both clip mechanisms function properly. Light desirable age appropriate mellowing and light finish wear to the gilding with no peeling of the pearls, only the occasional nick or minor rub wear to their glass nacre is all that is reportable with this magnificent find for your treasure chest; nothing in our opinion that detracts from their stunning appeal only that that affirms their age and authenticity. The perfect accessory for so many occasions, seasons, events and ensembles! (J8251)
