Vintage Sandor Victorian Revival garnet rhinestone earrings with ornate gilded brass flowers surrounding a typical Victorian stone daisy design and which here are done in garnet rhinestones. These lovely earrings are being offered for your consideration and are in excellent vintage condition appearing to have been seldom if ever worn. Realistic enough to appear to have been taken straight out of the pages of an 1830's history book!
Sandor Goldberger founded his company, trademarked SANDOR, well known for the high end, high quality jewelry it produced, in 1935; sadly it had ceased all production by the early 1970's. He and his jewelry house were considered premier among their peers, employing some of the most innovative designers of American costume jewelry history; rating inclusion with America's finest in Brunialti's, A Tribute to America Costume Jewelry 1935-50 ( see page 40 ). His creations are highly sought after by discerning costume jewelry collectors and though pieces are becoming harder to find, they are always a welcome and coveted find due to their quality and timeless beauty!
These are very detailed, beautifully designed and hand assembled; as you would expect from Sandor Goldberger. Both earrings are signed, SANDOR, in block lettering, as well as, a neatly hand etched c100 above the signature on each; does the hand etched number represent an inventory number, proto-type or salesman's sample...? They are 1 inch by 1 inch and 7/16 inch proud with bezel set deep dark red / blue stones. These display desirable age appropriate mellowing with light wear to the finish nothing in our opinion that detracts from their stunning appeal only that that affirms their age and authenticity. A timeless addition to your accessories wardrobe which will add a striking stand-alone statement of lasting value! (J3006)
