Vintage huge 5 inch long Jonne ( signed Jonné ) brooch has all the flashy elements; heavy shiny plating, seemingly countless sparkling rhinestones and opulent dangling tendrils of multiple sizes and shapes of Czech art glass and glass to create a gorgeous exotic mid-century flower or waterfall brooch as your imagination could dictate and it appears to have been seldom if ever worn. It is in excellent vintage condition and it is being offered for you consideration.
Jonné was a trademark of the House of Schrager, a premier jewelry house located on 5th Ave. in New York City which operated from approximately 1925 to the early 1960's. Known for high quality pieces with heavy plating, superior rhinestones, beads and findings; not all of their work was signed but all is highly sought after by discerning collectors today. Their Jonne line is sited in many reference texts as a 'sister' of Haskell Jewelry and indeed many of their pieces used the same techniques, high quality components and construction! It is always on our hunting list for you.
This beauty measures a full 5 inches long and 2 1/4 inches wide, a real feast for any ones eyes. There are black pear and round rhinestones accented with rows of black diamond round rhinestones erupting fireworks style from a central pool of the same theme of clear white rhinestones from which hang the tendrils of flowers / taking the foam of a waterfall of multiple shapes of gorgeous art glass. The pin back is straight, sharp and the 'C' clasp functions properly. It is signed on the reverse in an oval cartouche, Jonné. This one will be an immediate attention for all who feast their eyes on it! (J1841)
