Vintage Eugene art glass exquisite flower earrings created with layers of multiple colors of art glass, glass seed pearls, rhinestone accents and tiered coral art glass tendrils are being offered for your consideration. These beauties are in excellent vintage condition.
Eugene Jewelry ( 1952 - 1962 ) was designed and handcrafted by Eugene Schultz. Mr. Schultz's family says he once designed for Miriam Haskell before setting out on his own. Miriam Haskell Jewelry denies this; however the grand lady's influence is very clear, whether he ever designed for her or not. The name Eugene on a piece of jewelry is always a rare and coveted find for the collector/lover of fine quality costume jewelry! Mr. Schultz and his small staff produced jewelry for only 10 years; it is scarce in the market place and is becoming very difficult to find in even good condition, let alone excellent. His jewelry is always on our hunt list!
These rare and fabulous examples of wearable art measure a whopping 2 3/4 inches long by 1 1/8 inches wide and are 5/8 inch proud. Hopefully the 2 dimensional pictures give you some appreciation for their 3 dimensional quality; there is a layer created to 'float' above their base level of elements supported on a 'hidden' stalk; thus making a second tier or level on each earring. These earrings have tiny glass seed pearls, black and topaz faceted crystals and jade Peking and coral art glass all combined to create magnificent works of wearable art; each bearing the signature, Eugene. These display only desirable age appropriate mellowing and very light wear to the finish, nothing that detracts from their stunning appeal only that that affirms their age and authenticity. Yummy Eye Candy that will be a pure joy for wear or display for many years, occasions, seasons, events and ensembles to come! (J1839)
