Vintage Mazer Bros. stylized ribbon clear white rhinestone earrings in glossy gold plated settings are being offered for your consideration. The earrings are in excellent vintage condition.
Mazer Bros. (1926-1951) / Jomaz (1944-1979) / Mazer (1946-1979): Mazer Brothers was founded by Joseph Mazer and his brother, Louis, in 1926 in New York City. They employed many wonderful designers during their years in business; perhaps the best known was Marcel Boucher who left in 1930's to form his own company. In 1946 Joseph Mazer left Mazer Bros. to form, Joseph J. Mazer and Company, which produced lines under the trademarks, JOMAZ and MAZER. Louis Mazer kept Mazer Bros. open until 1951, the year its last collection debuted. The Mazer's produced exquisite costume jewelry, much of which emulated the real thing; they used the finest construction techniques and highest quality components, rhinestones and finishes. Frequently their stones where made to order from Swarovski in Austria. This offering demonstrates them at some of their finest and makes one realize why their jewelry is so highly collectible, decades after its creation!
These earrings could easily pass for the real thing! They are very detailed, ornate and dimensional; the plating is in excellent condition, all of the rhinestones appear to be original and are in excellent condition, all sparkle, none are dead and only a few even show signs of normal age related peppering. They measure 1 1/16 inches long by 3/4 inch wide; each clip back is signed, Mazer Bros., and both function properly. These may display some desirable age appropriate mellowing with light wear to the finish, nothing in my opinion which detracts from their stunning appeal (some might consider small signs of vintage use undesirable), I revel in a find like this as proof that affirms the age and authenticity of the pieces, they will receive a gentle professional cleaning, if needed, but no attempt will be made to cover up their vintage previous 50 to 80 beautiful years of life.
