Victorian hand-painted and artist signed footed nut bowl by Oscar & Edgar Gutherz's porcelain works own artists is being offered for your consideration. This famous pair of Austrian brothers produced beautiful porcelain from their company's kilns in Altrohlau, Austria and this piece is a wonderful example of their work. It bares their mark, O.&E.G., Royal and Austria with and Ivy Wreath, on the bottom indicating production between 1880 to 1914 and also that of the artist; the artist's signature is not easy to decipher, W. C ( ? ). Pe ( ? ) ck. This large sized nut bowl measures 8 by 7 inches and stands 3 3/4 inches tall. The ample scalloped opening measures 5 7/8 by 5 1/4 inches. There are no chips, cracks or hairlines; only some minor glaze scuffing and finish wear from light use. There are the era typical anomalies of dust 'bumps', iron and paint specks and tiny glaze skips and pits. The gilded inside edge is 85-90% intact.
